What is KojiConnect?

a new project from kojicon + yfec

We are pleased to announce KojiConnect, a new project from the Kojicon and Yellow Farmhouse Education Center team. Designed to support Kojicon's mission to make fermentation knowledge more accessible, KojiConnect supports community-led fermentation programs beyond the annual virtual conference. Through both in-person and hybrid experiences, KojiConnect connects participants with fermentation traditions, practitioners, and learning opportunities from around the world.

Our first collaboration, KojiConnect: Japan is developed in partnership with Mutsumi Komune, a fermentation interpreter working in Japan, and Manami Auregan, who promotes Japanese fermentation culture in the Paris region of France. The inaugural program of KojicConnect: Japan combines a live, in-person workshop in Japan with a simultaneous online experience for participants worldwide.

The event opens the traditionally closed three-day koji-making process at Gomi Shoyu with expert Gomi Hitoshi, to a global audience, providing real-time access to a working fermentation site, direct interaction with producers, and an immersive look into one of Japan's most important culinary traditions.
